My Health Escape in Byron Bay

Chad Walkaden, Director & Primary Practitioner

4 December 2017

I am currently sitting next to the departure gate at Gold Coast airport after completing a five-day INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE in Byron Bay. In the distance, a sea of dark grey clouds slowly begins to consume the majestic hinterland of the Gold Coast. Although my mind has a tendency to focus on the strange animals and shapes that can too easily appear in the clouds, my attention is captivated by the antlike airport employees who are hurriedly moving across the tarmac. In many ways, this moment symbolises the very reason why I decided to escape the stressors and demands of modern day living to immerse myself in an INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE.

My INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE was like nothing else. It was a time spent within the comforts and surrounds that are expected of a retreat but there was a difference in the approach that completely suited my life. This difference was described by one my friend as the ultimate balance of travel, health and work.

Throughout the INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE , I used meditation, yoga, breathing exercises and the breathtaking scenery to help restore and recharge my body and mind. I was also extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to tap into local knowledge about places to sample local coffee and the myriad selection of mouthwatering plant based options that fueled my escape. This invaluable local knowledge also extended to directing me to ideal locations to surf and to escape the town to explore the walks and waterfalls that surrounds this unique part of Australia. Personally, I have most enjoyed my past travels when surfing or some other form of activity has been incorporated into my travel plans. It truly is a memorable experience to see the diverse landscapes of your destination from your surfboard or atop a mountain.

For many of us, travel has almost been a rite of passage and I believe that there is now a growing number of people who have reached a place in their lives where they now want more out of their holidays.

A unique part of the INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE was also the opportunity I had to focus on directing attention to the quickly approaching year ahead. Increasingly, I am seeing people face greater demands and stressors associated with their work and I believe that a combination of health and travel is the perfect solution for many of us to press reset. Not only was it a health focused holiday but the encounters with a few key people have resulted in some fine tuning for my thinking, habits and interactions. In many ways, an INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE could also be referred to as “Prehab”.

I can imagine that, when reading this, the above descriptions resonates with some of your past travels to places around the world where your sense of exploration and adventure was activated. For many of us, travel has almost been a rite of passage and I believe that there is now a growing number of people who have reached a place in their lives where they now want more out of their holidays. For these people, they still want the exploration, the growth, the laughter and the adventure. However, they want to do this in a way that avoids them returning to their lives with a feeling that they need another holiday.

The notion of a holiday with a difference is something that has intrigued me and within the last few years I have noticed that my taste in travel has slightly changed. In many ways, this type of travel has evolved in accordance with the changes that have occurred in my life and I am feeling certain that an INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPE is something that I will be doing again very soon.

This would not have been possible without the incredible team @inflowhealth for helping me to make this a reality. Have a look at www.inflowhealthsolutions.com to find out more about INFLOW HEALTH ESCAPES.
